Are you prepared for the emergency needs of your pets? At Doggie Minder we are passionate about all aspects of a dog's life! Corinna Bollmann, the "doggie minder" is the instructor for this 10-hour pet first aid course. She is a certified pet first aid instructor. This "paws-on" course is designed to give pet lovers the necessary information and skills needed to stabilize an injured pet until qualified veterinary care can be obtained. In this course you will learn about the importance of preventative care and what you can do to avoid illness and injuries. You will also learn how to properly restrain an injured animal and the significance of immediate medical attention following an injury. All skills are practiced on live animals. In fact, we encourage you to bring your pet to the course as long as they are healthy, calm and get along well with people and other animals. However, it is not mandatory to bring a pet to the course. For the hands-on part of the class people generally work in pairs and either share the live animals or use a toy animal.
